biography
Born in Los Angeles, Lamont started revealing his talent as a dynamic drummer at the age of 7. He worked diligently with his uncle and mentor, Thurston G. Frazier. As his talent grew, so did his unique sound, which caught the attention of Billy Preston and Kenneth Glover, both with whom he toured.
After working the Los Angeles circuit, Lamont continued to expand his musical horizons by working with Himalaya & James Debarge. He has also toured/recorded with Paul Russo, composer/pianist Rob Mullins, and saxophonist Greg Vail. One of Lamont’s most recent accomplishments is touring and performing with R & B Legend Chaka Khan.
Lamont is also a partner in a musical production company, Peoples Productions, formed in 1993 with Wendell & Denise Peoples. Lamont is involved with promoting and performing with such artists as The Whisphers, Gerald Albright, Chuckie Booker, Norman Brown, Bobby Lyle, Paul Russo, Evertte Harp, and Howard Hewitt.
Lamont has appeared on the "Roseanne" shows & The Stan Lee webcast.
